I use librarything to catalog our church’s small library. I decided to use shelfari.com. It was very easy, and I really like the way the books are shown on a virtual book shelf. One thing that is different between librarything and shelfari is that in librarything, you can write a review at the “add manually” screen as you are typing in the the book. You can’t do this in shelfari. But in shelfari, at the add manually screen, you can type in the “# of media” and the number of pages which you can’t do in librarything.
I have not figured out how to add my shelfari site to this blog. I will keep trying.

Hi, there– I’m not sure who your consultant is, but I think Rob and Jeremiah are both pretty adept at these technical things. Ask them about Shelfari!

I figured it out, Fran! When you are on your composing (or editing if you already have your start) post page, look up at the top of the box where you are typing and you have a choice for “Visual” or “HTML”. Choose the HTML tab and you will see a little box that says “link”. It is in blue and underlined. When you are ready to put your link in click the button, paste your link, then click it again. Whatever you write after you do that will be the “button” to go to your link. So for example if you type after it MY SHELFARI PAGE, then those words actually become your link to your page. If you want an example, go to my blog and check out my last couple of posts-I think I have included links in almost all of them. Good luck and if you need any more help I will be in in the morning! great party today!
